Lead Clinician Chiropodist
Amanda Cates D.Ch., Owner and Lead Chiropodist of London Family Foot Clinic, completed her undergrad degree at the University of Western Ontario with a specialization in Biology. With a passion for health care, Amanda went on to complete a graduate advanced diploma of Health Sciences in Chiropody at the Michener Institute of Applied Health Sciences in 2012. After gaining several years of clinical experience and a passion for improving the foot health of patients, she founded London Family Foot clinic in 2017. Amanda’s area of special interest include pediatrics, sports medicine and orthotics. She is committed to providing comprehensive care and personalized treatment plans to patients of all ages. Amanda's expertise and gentle approach make her a trusted professional in the field of Chiropody. Amanda is on the board of directors for the Ontario society of Chiropodist and the chair of the continuing education committee. In her spare time Amanda loves camping, canoeing and traveling with her husband and 2 boys.

Teresa Diaz Martinez B. Pod. is an experienced chiropodist who brings a wealth of knowledge to our clinic. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Podiatry from the European University of Madrid and has a background as a Registered Nurse. With many years of practice, Teresa has developed a strong foundation in biomechanical assessment, diabetic foot assessment, therapeutic injections, and nail surgeries. Her commitment to patient care and expertise in various treatments make her an invaluable member of our team. During her free time Teresa loves dancing and spending time with her family and friends.

Son Hee Jin D.Ch. is a skilled chiropodist who graduated from the Michener Institute of Applied Health Sciences in 2017. Her areas of special interest lie in the biomechanics of all ages and nail surgery. With a deep understanding of how foot mechanics affect overall health, Son Hee Jin is committed to providing comprehensive assessments and customized treatment plans to her patients. Her expertise in biomechanics and nail surgery make her an integral part of our clinic. Son Hee is an avid hiker and rock climber. She loves traveling and exploring new places she has not seen around the world.

After graduating from York University, Alicia worked for several years in the HR and health/business community as the HR manager for the tele-health program. She feels honored that she was able to help set up offices administering this program across Canada. She then decided to pursue her chiropody licence and attended the Michener Institute of Health Sciences where she received her Post Graduate Diploma in Podiatric Medicine. During her studies at the Michener Institute, Alicia had the opportunity to complete residencies in the wound care clinic at both Women’s College Hospital in Toronto and St. Peter’s Hospital in Hamilton. She enjoys all aspects of practice but has a special interest in soft tissue surgery. She had been in private practice at their clinic in Hamilton, ON for over 12 years with her husband also a fellow chiropodist. They have since relocated to London Ontario and happy to join the London Family Foot Care team. In her spare time, Alicia is an avid crocheter and has quite the collection of yarn, patterns and projects in various states of completion.

Colin has vast experience in the foot care industry. He began his training fabricating prosthetic limbs and orthotic devices for the entire body at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto through a diploma program at George Brown College. He then went on to an apprenticeship as a Pedorthic Technician and then as a Pedorthist. He opened an orthotic laboratory following his Pedorthic training, producing custom orthotics and shoe and brace modifications for practitioners in the Hamilton and surrounding areas. He decided to return to school and pursue the medical training necessary to become a licenced Chiropodist. He graduated from Michener with honours and is now a licenced as a Chiropodist in Ontario. He recently graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Podiatric Medicine from Leeds University in the UK.

Adam Schmidt D.Ch is a skilled and knowledgeable chiropodist who brings his expertise in treating a broad range of varying patient cases to our clinic. He provides comprehensive foot care services and appropriate management planning to improve the well-being of his patients. He has a history of working with high-risk patients through his placement at Ottawa General Hospital in their outpatient wound clinic. Adam has a passion for patient care and a commitment to professional development in the field. Adam’s dedication to the field of chiropody makes him an integral part of our team. Fun facts about Adam are that he is a triplet and that he’s from London, Ontario.
